Foamie Warranty and Repair
It’s hard to believe it been a decade since I started making Foamie Boaters. While I have always stood behind every boat I sell, I wanted to make my warranty more official. If your Foamie has any issue please reach out and let me know. I will do my best to make sure you get you taken care of. I believe in quality customer service and try to go above and beyond for my customers. So whether you cracked a hull, your dog ate it, or something on it just broke or doesn’t work right, I can help and will do my best to get you back on the water. Also if you know it’s been more than three years and you know it’s out of warranty, still please reach out to me. I make all the parts and pieces of my boats and can still repair your boat for a nominal fee. I want to do my part in keeping things out of the landfill. I make a Premium product that should last a long time and will do my best to make it right if for any reason it doesn’t hold up.

Frequently Asked Repair Questions
I cracked the plastic boat hull. Am I covered?
If you cracked the hull and air bubbles come up when you put it underwater you are covered for sure. If it's a hairline crack you may get away with some super glue. That typically is only a temporary fix so even then you may want to send it in to me.
I was playing with my Foamie and it's head fell off. Am I covered?
If the head fell off you are covered. If you have the head I'll be happy to instruct you how to glue back on if that's easier, or you can send into me to fix. If you lose your head, I can either send you a head, or you can send boat into me to fix.
I got my Foamie as a gift and don't have a receipt. Am I covered?
If you don't have a receipt you are still covered. If you bought directly from me I should be able to find receipt. If you don't have receipt we use Manufacture date to determine warranty period.
My body got separated from the kayak hull. Am I covered?
If the body came off, you are covered. I will be happy to instruct you how to glue back on if you prefer, or you can send it back to me to fix.
I bought a boat before your official warranty started. Am I covered?
Yeah no problem! I'll honor my current warranty on all boats I have made, even ones before official warranty was out.
My boat leans to one side, or doesn't roll right. Am I covered?
If boat is just leaning a hair to one side or the other, you can usually slide paddle a few millimeters to opposite side. If that doesn't work, or it's leaning more than a hair, just send it in and I'll get you taken care of. I haven't had a roll issue with a boat in quite some time. I usually catch all defective boats when water testing them. If for any reason boat doesn't roll correctly you are covered.
I know my boat it out of warranty, will you still fix it?
I make all the parts and pieces for my boats and should be able to fix most problems. Charge will be minimal so there is no reason not to reach out to me.
My kids played everyday with boat in our backyard creek and boats are worn out after several years of hard use. Should I send in my boat, or just buy some new ones?
If it's been 3 years or less you are covered by warranty. It's up to you whether to replace or send in.
I bought my Foamie from a retailer and I don't have my receipt. Am I covered?
Yes you are covered without receipt. Many times you can reach out to the retailer and they may have a record of purchase. If that's not the case we will use manufacturer date of boat.
My dog ate the Foamie. I'm not covered am I?
If the dog eats it in the first year, you ARE COVERED under the 1 year no fault warranty as long as you have the uneaten part left. I'll do my best to get you fixed up unless you gave to dog on purpose. Foamie Boaters are not dog toys. After year 1, it's not covered since it's not intended use, but I will still do my best to take care of you.
I ran too big of a drop and it landed on rocks and broke plastic hull. Am I covered?
Foamie Boaters like real kayaks aren't designed to land on rocks. That being said, carnage happens on the river. You are covered, but please don't repeat drops like that again in the future. I reserve the right to exclude warranty to those that abuse the boats intentionally by running big drops that land on rocks or pushing Foamie Boaters past their design limits.
I have a wooden Foamie Boater where the paint is chipping from contact with rocks in the river. Is this covered?
NO THIS IS NOT COVERED. Chipping paint is considered wear. Let me explain why this is not covered. I use the toughest paints available. All Automotive Urethane. While the primer, paint, and clear coat is tough, the wood underneath isn't. This is due to the specific gravity (how well it floats) of the wood. Foamies need to be made out of soft woods in order to work correctly in the water. While a wood like Ash (baseball bats) or Hickory (tool handles) would be much tougher and hold up better, it would also weigh them down too much. They would also sub out in the water. Also since my Wooden boaters are cut on the band-saw in two separate directions, they are not fully rounded and have corners. These corners will take all the wear since this is the area that is in most contact with rocks. If for any reason paint de-laminates or fails early due to manufacturing defect, that would be covered. Nail polish is great to touch up and maintain paint if your more particular and want to extend paint life of your wooden Foamie Boater.
