I just finished making my new Standard wood Foamie Boaters. I intended to roll these out last year, but with Sunshine Industries losing three quarters of their staff last year, they had to dramatically step back in helping me make Foamie boaters. While I'm grateful they are still willing to sand boats for me, it had quite a toll on me having to make up for the production difference. I had to step back and not try to take on new retailers, insuring my current retailers would have consistent supply of boats at a time I was just getting ready to go big and expand the reach of Foamie Boaters. This was harder for me to take mentally than monetarily. Many times I would go weeks on end putting in 12 to 16 hour days. As a result I didn't paddle, hike, fish, or spend enough quality time with the family. This resulted in me being more anxious than ever, and even causing me to cancel last minute on a fisheries trip of a lifetime on Hazel Creek that I had been hoping to do for the last 8 years or so. The upside of all that work is that I have gotten ahead with lots of stock and parts and pieces in different levels of production that I can finally sit back and take it a bit more easy. I'm looking forward to another year of hard work, but am also making sure to live life to the fullest. I want to spend lots of time in nature to ease anxiety and stress, and make life way more awesome. It's crazy to think that just a day a week in the Smokies makes all the difference between me enjoying or being stressed out by my family. Time to practice what I preach. Anyway a year later and they are here. All Standard Foamie Boaters will be from Paulownia trees that I have harvested, milled, dried, and cut into boat hulls. The Blue body is made out of 4 pound Minicell that we have water jetted. The life jacket is make from EVA foam. The paddle shaft is a solid fiberglass shaft that is realistically sized, yet tough as nails. The paddle blades are made from 6 pound Minicell that we have water jetted, then dip in Rubberdip for extreme durability. The head is completely hand made as well. Buy one and get out on the creek today!
